MTEARS Weekly Training Net — Mondays at 8:00 PM Central (9:00 PM Eastern).
MTEARS is a statewide linked UHF-only emergency and severe-weather communications system. The weekly net is open to licensed amateur radio operators and is used to test both the linked system and individual stations’ ability to reach it.
This is not a WC4DC-controlled net. Before transmitting, verify the current MTEARS system map and the status of the link you intend to use. Individual links can be temporarily unavailable because of weather or maintenance.
During severe weather: when a local county severe-weather net is active, storm and damage reports should normally go to that local net. County liaisons relay reports meeting NWS criteria to MTEARS Net Control. Mobile stations or operators in counties without an active local net may report directly to MTEARS Net Control.
The calendar reserves an approximate 8:00–9:00 PM Central block; actual net duration may vary.
