Simulated Emergency Test Center

Plan, operate, and learn from structured emergency-communications exercises. Compare simplex and repeater coverage by location, capture two-way signal reports, and turn each S.E.T. into better operational knowledge for the next activation.

How the exercise works

One exercise, several communications paths

A S.E.T. is more than a check-in count. Each assigned site becomes a repeatable test point so the club can compare what actually works from around the county.

1

Plan locations

Reuse groups such as Fire Stations, County Schools, Hospitals, or Shelters and add one-off sites when needed.

2

Assign operators

Give each location an operator, tactical call, planned power, equipment goal, and special instructions for this exercise.

3

Test the paths

Net Control records Field → NCS and NCS → Field reports for simplex and each repeater being evaluated.

4

Map the results

Compare readable, weak, relay-only, and no-contact locations to understand where coverage succeeds or fails.

Reusable exercise sets

Location groups

SET managers can maintain reusable collections of test locations so recurring exercise types can be planned quickly and consistently.

Measured coverage results

First choose the S.E.T. exercise you want to review. Then switch its map between assignment status, simplex coverage, and repeater coverage. Click a site to inspect the operator, power, and two-way radio-test result.

MEASURED COVERAGE

Point-to-point S.E.T. results

Colors, labels, and path lines come from the actual signal reports recorded at each exercise location. This is measured test data—not an RF propagation prediction between untested points.
